It's been a while since my last post, so here I am!
I met my friend for brunch in NYC on Sunday. We had agreed to try Clinton Street Baking Company because she had been craving pancakes all week and they apparently had some pretty stellar ones. When reading Yelp reviews, you'll find that there is usually a 2 to 3 hour wait when you go there. Thank goodness for technology, when I got there I gave them my name and number to text me when my table was ready. I am not one to wait out in the cold just for some great food.
I wandered over to the Koneko Cat Café and grabbed coffee and a croissant while waiting for my friend to arrive The back portion of this café includes a playroom for cats that they currently have up for adoption. Of course took a seat at the table closest to the playroom to observe. I absolutely love animals even though I am allergic to most of them to some extent. Shortly after my friend arrived, we got the text that our table was ready and we headed over. As we were waiting, I had my first celebrity sighting in NYC - Nick Kroll, Chelsea Peretti, and Jordan Peele. They were there briefly after being told there would be a wait. After getting seated, we ordered chocolate chunk pancakes and fried chicken and waffles. I can finally say that I enjoyed fried chicken and waffles for once! After seeing so many people ordering it, I gave in even though I've been disappointed in the combo in the past. It was SO worth it, absolutely delicious paired with Tabasco and their honey maple butter . Went halfsies with my friend so I got to experience those phenomenal pancakes, all that fluffy goodness! They do have a take out option, so if it's nice out and you don't want to wait, call ahead and ordered your food, pick it up and head to the near by park and chow down. Otherwise I'd advise planning ahead with the thought that it will be at least a 2 hour wait, so find a place to kill some time. The biggest problem I had was walking by so many places that smelled delicious! I had to stop myself a couple of times from grabbing food to eat elsewhere.
Strolled around the area to fun some vibrant backgrounds to take photos. You can always count on New York to have somewhere vibrant or unique to take pictures. It finally cooled down on Sunday so I opted for a comfy cozy outfit. I grabbed this great 3.1 Phillip Lim plaid top on sale at SSENSE which I plan on living in for the rest of winter (if it ever cools down).
