Happy belated Valentine's day, hope everyone had a good one! My boyfriend attempted to be sweet and send flowers to me at work but they never showed up. It explained why a couple of my coworkers kept asking me where my flowers were (he had asked one of them what the address of my work was), to which I replied, he didn't send me any. But it was nice to find out later that he had technically tried to order me flowers and cooked me a delicious dinner, where I gorged myself silly.

I've managed to incorporate some color into my wardrobe! This is always an exciting thing for me! Colored pants are an easy way to incorporate color into a wardrobe for those who want to and don't know where to start. If you're on the more adventurous side, you can create a color block outfit, otherwise just throw on a neutral colored top over your colored pants and you're good to go.

It's not like I ask guys to buy me presents. I merely suggest.

A wide brimmed fedora that may fit my big head? What is this world coming to? I got this hat on super sale at Aritzia (which may be my new favorite store - though only when they have crazy good sales like the current winter one going on). I was so indecisive that I ended up buying it in brown AND charcoal (lack of self control.. I purchased this Zara coat towards the beginning of winter. It is more like a large sweater and I like how easy it is to throw on over my chunky sweaters. Even layered with other clothing, I can still move my arms, which always a plus. My favorite part of the coat is the fur detailing on the collar. It's great for when it gets cold, I just button up and my neck is warm and cozy.

I know Christmas is long gone, but I recently got one of my presents from my boyfriend. He was mildly concerned that I carry my camera around in whatever bag I pack my clothes in when staying at his house. Though he had decided that I needed a camera case, he expressed the fact that he didn't trust himself to purchase me one on his own. He knew I'd want one that wasn't too boring (and at least slightly stylish) and he's not a deal shopper. We managed to agree on this simple, yet adorable Pendleton camera bag. I absolutely love it and adore how I have the option of using it as a regular bag.

Happy Belated Groundhog's day! A holiday I otherwise would have forgotten had the radio not reminded me yesterday morning. Lo and behold, it's been predicted that spring is coming, which isn't too surprising. Goal for this spring is to utilize all the ankle boots I've collected over the fall/winter into outfits. I have a tendency to convert to sandals the second it gets warm because my toes feel weird covered.

This sweater was a random purchase online at Urban Outfitters because I wanted to get over $50 in my cart to get free shipping.. so I figured that the sweater probably wouldn't work out and I'd just return it to the store. However.. rather than keep the other item I had wanted, I ended up keeping the sweater and absolutely loving it. It's great for winter (and I don't have many proper clothes for winter), it's soft, and it's super comfortable/cozy. I adore the little flecks of color throughout the sweater that aren't overwhelming but give it an interesting look. You'll definitely be seeing it often on my blog. This sweater falls in the stylish and comfortable category of my wardrobe (like my Topshop jacket). Those items are far and few between so keep them when you find them!

January has officially ended. It's crazy to think that just 4 weeks ago.. we started the new year. This month has definitely zipped by. Today's temperatures are supposed to get up to 60 degrees! Mother nature, what are you doing?! Not that I don't appreciate the mild temperatures, so keep it up and I'll stop complaining..

These photos are from the beginning of January. I decided to show off my talents to my boyfriend's roommates one day.. that talent was making snowflakes out of spare magazines. Being that I stay there every weekend, it's my contribution to their house (I would be more prone to calling it a frat house - four boys, four smelly, dirty boys). I'm sure they would appreciate food much more. During the New Year's weekend, his roommates' friends came over and I was just walking into the house. One girl started telling me how well I decorated the house and couldn't stop raving about it. I had to stop and think about what other things I did besides these snowflakes.. which is nothing.. so I guess the snowflakes left a big impression on her.

My new favorite Zara jeans for going out. Love how versatile they are even though they are printed. They go great with any basic top.. throw on some ankle boots and I'm ready to go out. I've already worn them multiple times out and they've been a big hit among friends.. though my friends have a tendency to meow, growl, or rawr while commenting on the jeans.

I decided to sell the Sam Edelman Petty boots (pictured below). Anyone interested in purchasing them, they are a size 6.5 and are listed on ebay here.

I like the leopard pattern of the J.Crew slipper loafers more than the Sam Edelman's. I ultimately picked the loafers because being a short gir, the leopard print loafers don't overwhelm my small frame as much as the ankle boots do. I think the Sam Edelman's would work awesomely on a taller girl.. damn my short genes.

I'm enjoying the mild winter we've been having. Around the same time last year there was probably a foot of snow on the ground. I'm appreciative because January has been a busier time than I expected. Apparently many parents decided to procreate about 9 months ago and so now I have quite a few friends (that I actually speak to/like) celebrating their birthdays in January. I'm not used to this "not hibernating because it's cold outside" business in the winter. Pretty sure last winter was spent holed up in my room for fear of getting lost in the snow....

A couple of weekends ago when it was slightly colder, I wore one of my favorite jackets. It's a shearling jacket that I snagged on sale at Topshop. It also happens to be my warmest jacket. Who can complain about functional fashion?

I've always adored Karen from Wheredidugetthat's YSL men's leopard print boots that she has, so these Sam Edelman Petty's in leopard seemed like a good alternative. I have always liked the shape of the Petty's, and Karen had posted the leopard print ones as an alternative to her YSL's before. The photo below just made me crave them more..

I received the Petty's today and took a quick/crappy phone pic. I sent both photos above to my friend. She goes "Are you doing the same pose as her?" to which I replied "No I am not, I am in fact trying to hide my bare foot." She and I found this amusing as I never would have noticed if it weren't for her.

Still in the decision making period about the Petty's because J.Crew enticed me today with an email declaring their extra 40% off sale with code "OURTREAT" causing me to purchase these:

The J.Crew Darby Penny Loafers which I had also fallen in love with a while back, however did not fall in love with the price. On sale however, they were a must have. At the moment, I can't justify keeping two pairs of leopard shoes so one will have to go... What's your pick? So far I think the loafers are winning, I see them going with my closet more easily versus the Petty's.

Coincidentally, I flipped through an issue of Elle magazine where I fell in love with the outfit below, mainly those glitter slippers she is wearing. The whole outfit is lovely and made me desperately want a pair of these as well.

Lo and behold, J.Crew has the Darby Glitter Loafers (pictured below) which are a great alternative to the Jimmy Choo glitter loafers pictured above.

I am in love with Alexander Wang's slouchy beanies, so when I saw one on sale on theOutnet.com, I had to get it. Unfortunately I suffer from having a large head so this particular style didn't suit me as much as my other AW beanies so I gifted it to my boyfriend. He tends to stay away from wearing black (a matter that I asked him about and it was explained to me that being pale and blonde makes it hard to wear black because it causes him to look extra pale), so the gray color is perfect.

These photos are from before Christmas, we went out to a sandwich place in Morristown, NJ called C'est Cheese, which is a local favorite of ours. We probably go there every other week and it's always great service and yummy food with reasonable prices. It's within walking distance of his house so it's good to go for a walk when the weather is reasonable.

Received these Burberry Prorsum shoes yesterday that I got on sale on Net-a-Porter.. unfortunately they have a scratch on the front right shoe so they are going back but I wanted to share them with you guys before I returned them. They are pretty comfortable considering their height.. I've strayed away from high platforms and been leaning more towards lower ankle boot types of shoes, stuff I can wear on a more day to day basis with some comfort. Not to mention going to the supermarket (because my life isn't that exciting) in giant platforms would probably get me some pretty strange stares.

I want friends who still lie to me because they don't want to hurt my feelings. I sadly kind of mean that.

What more says Christmas than a panda bear and poinsettas... obviously not the panda bear, but he was cute so I included him (I learned in Hong Kong that I could just watch a panda for hours eating bamboo). Even though it was around Thanksgiving when I was in Hong Kong and they were putting all sorts of holiday/Christmas lights and what not up. The buildings were adorned with all sorts of flashing Christmas related things. It was actually pretty cool, they really go all out over there. I wonder if they got people with design degrees to design all the lights..

Sharing some goldfish photos from Hong Kong.. the new 50mm lens took great pictures of the fish in their tanks. I had a blast going through the "Goldfish Village" (at Ocean Park in Hong Kong -- their equivalent of Sea World) and taking photos. Not sure why asian goldfish always have extra.. parts (??) on certain parts of their bodies. As far as survival of the fittest, I'm not sure what having bubbly cheeks, bulging eyes, and giant growths on their foreheads are doing for them.

Along with seeing the Buddha (see last post).. there was an eerie path that my mom and I walked along to see some scriptures that were carved on planks of wood. It was cool, each plank of wood had a line carved into it and if you walked along the path, you could read the whole thing. Of course, there were more stray dogs along the way that I mistakenly thought were furry rocks (adorable furry rocks that ignored me).

Cable car ride that brought me to the Great Buddha.. walked around and shopped a bit, another typical tourist location. The cable car had a clear bottom that was kind of cool, though most of what you saw was water and trees. I also saw many stray dogs (which I was obsessed with taking photos of, not to mention the drizzle that was happening all day did not phase them) and stray cows.. which happened to be roaming around munching on whatever shrubbery was around minding their own business. And yes, they are stray cows.. they do what they want, where they want.

No one sheds like this family, it's like a bunch of Chewbaccas.

Another huge tourist attraction in Hong Kong is the Peak Tram. The tram brings you to the one of the highest points in Hong Kong with a beautiful view of the city. I love the Bank of China building, it's the one with the diamond pattern on it, probably the most recognizable building in Hong Kong. I wasn't about to get good pictures of Hong Kong at night, but it's absolutely beautiful.. they always have some sort of lights on the buildings.. especially around this time of year because Christmas is coming.

Ok, technical problems from last night have been resolved. Hair dryer plus toaster plus waffle iron equals boiling water.

This is devastating for me, but I'm selling my Giuseppe Zanotti glitter ankle boots that I took forever to track down. They are a tad too big on me and don't fit well on my ankles, a problem I attribute to my lack of height (5'2") and my average sized feet (size 7) - Hopefully someone who has taken online classes in fashion design will come up with more comfortable shoe designs..

My theory used to be that I could wear things that Rachel Bilson can wear (love her style!) because we're the same height. (Then I found out on ShoeMint that she's only a 5.5 which means the ankles of any ankle boots she wears are significantly smaller than my large 6.5/small 7 feet. These Giuseppe Zanotti boots have been sitting in my closet for AGES.. and it's just time for them to have a new home. So if anyone is interested, check out my Ebay listing here.

My trip to Hong Kong was mostly eating and doing touristy things. Walking up to 6-8 hours in a day made footwear relatively important. Even sneakers didn't cut it some days. The weather was nice, mid to high 70s. Sad that I had to come home to all this coldness, though from what my mother has told me.. Hong Kong is colder than the weather we've been having lately.

I had purchased the UNIF Hellraisers and wore them out once, but ultimately decided to sell them off because I was in fear of the spikes breaking off if I happened to brush my feet against something (example, the curb). Knowing my clumsiness and OCD, this would happen sooner rather than later and I would just be upset with myself. They are definitely a bad ass shoe though!

It's been a whirlwind of catching up at work and figuring out how to fix my sleep schedule. Luckily the weather has been super nice, decently warm considering how far we are into the fall. All the leaves decided to fall while I was in Hong Kong. Now all the trees are bare and there are big leaf piles everywhere.

More leftovers from before I was left. These Toms are from the collaboration between Toms and The Row. Toms are ridiculously comfortable and good for days when my feet are just too tired to be tromping around in any sort of heel. I love that these are cashmere and plaid, it's fall perfection. Who knows, someday I might even look into a degree online in fashion so I could design some shoes this great.

Just got back last night (Wednesday) and I am completely turned around when it comes to time. Hong Kong is 13 hours ahead so whenever I was talking to the bf I would be super confused (so would he for that matter). Managed to sleep at 10:30pm last night and wake up at 6pm today. Don't worry.. I did wake up at 6am and finished up "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" .. then forced myself back to sleep thinking I would wake up at noon, however not be so jetlagged for work tomorrow. Little did I know, I would just keep sleeping and not wake up for another 10 hours.

I'll leave you guys with some of the first photos I took with the new lens. Maybe a month ago I was out in the city with my bf and his friends who were visiting. We did some sight seeing in NYC. I love this new 50mm lens! The bag is my new Alexander Wang, my favorite color for the Donna.

I recently purchased a new lens for my camera that is great for portrait pictures. In an effort to also enhance my photo taking ability, I purchased a "Nikon 3000 for Dummies" book. The plan is to read and retain everything in it.

A perfect time for reading should be while I'm on a plane to Hong Kong! I leave this Friday and I'm so excited. It's a much needed and well deserved vacation and I'll also be able to spend time with my family. Most of my family is there so I don't get to see them often. Hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on a computer and update periodically from there!

I recently sold off this bag.. but these photos are from a few weeks ago. I definitely need to wear this suede jacket more often, the color is absolutely perfect for fall.

On another note, I have managed to survive 3 big mother nature moments at my bf's.. heat wave, hurricane, and this past weekends snowstorm. Admittedly, my Hunter rain boots are the best things for snow and rain. I was a non believer of rain boots for a long time until I owned a pair and they are the most practical things in the world for semi severe weather.

I mentioned this to my coworkers and they said that rain boots aren't warm but I suggest a pair of thick warm socks (I stole wool ones from my bf this past weekend, but I a pair of skiing or snowboarding socks would work as well).. and your feet can be quite toasty.

Fun with fisheye-ish lens. Decided to take a drive to the national park near my bf's house to take photos. Pretty proud of myself that I'm slowly venturing out in public for my blog. Course, I started off in 5 inch wedges on gravel and the second I saw people coming out of the woods from a hike into the area where we were.. I immediately beelined for the car.

The suede skirt is from Forever 21, yes, suede skirt. For $25. I bought it in black and mustard and they fit extremely well considering the price I paid for them. This outfit is pure love.. if only it was warm enough to still wear.. people in the tristate area - chance of snow for tonight and tomorrow? Does Mother Nature realize it's only October?!

Taking photos on what I believe is the fire escape of my bf's house. The fire escape is located outside the window of one of his roommates rooms. I remember commenting that it would be kind of nice to have a date up there, just chatting and looking at some stars (I know I'm the type of girl who would appreciate something like that).

I had stalked this skirt by Spring & Clifton ever since I saw the versatility of it on an email "Planet Blue" sent me. It can be worn with the slit in the front or the back and is super comfortable. I managed to snag this striped one for 70% off at Shopbop towards the end of summer. I feel like fall is just whisking by and we're almost into winter already. I'll have to figure out how to wear this more often before the freezing temperatures are upon us.

Left over photos from the summer.. I absolutely love these shoes (I'm sure I've written about them before). They keep getting better with age and go with every outfit you can imagine, not to mention they are flat and comfortable. The plan is to wear them until they die but I deathly afraid of them dying because I won't be able to wear them anymore... do you have a pair of shoes like that?

Night is coming earlier and cooler weather is swooping in. I dread the moment Daylight Savings Time starts.. why do we need to turn the clocks forward? It just depresses me that night starts even earlier causing me to want to snuggle up in my bed and hibernate.

You know what the problem with maxi skirts (though I love the way they look).. it's that I tend to step all over the bottom and trip if I don't gather them up in my hands. Especially going up the stairs.. you cannot walk up stairs in a maxi and not gather the bottom in your hands. Not doing this will cause you to severely injure yourself as a result of tripping and rolling down the stairs...

Typical fitting room situation for me is having grabbed a ton of nice on the hanger dresses off the sales rack (of which I'm hoping one will work out) and a couple of sweaters/oversized tops (that were just too cheap to pass up but I don't think will work). What ends up happening? All the dresses are ill-fitting however the one top.. which is a Large.. fits me (to my liking at least). This is a typical fitting room situation for me. It's always the random item, not in my size and is just cheap enough for me to grab with me. So next time you go into the fitting room.. grab the random item that you don't think is going to work out.. because it just might..

This top is by American Gold, I managed to snag it for about half off at Need Supply Co. It's my first American Gold piece, though I wish I could own everything they have. I adore the hippie feel of American Gold clothes (though I don't adore the prices..). Luckily, yesterday they had a Groupon like deal for Spanish Moss, where you pay a certain amount but could spend twice that amount on the site (so you were basically getting half off). I love the skater style feel to this dress, it's flattering and feminine at the same time. Found this dress on Asos on sale, between the style, the print, and price, it was really a must have. Super comfortable and chic at the same time. It's funny when people ask "oh where are you going all dressed up?" when you wear a dress. I find it so much easier to just throw on a dress and go.. one piece of clothing versus matching/styling 2 to 3 pieces.. yes please.

I felt the need to make good use out of my long weekends because I'm using all my vacation time to go to Hong Kong in November. I suggested to the bf that we visit OH (where he is from) because I don't know the next time I'll be able to make a trip out there. Currently not packed or prepared for the long drive ahead of me tomorrow afternoon. To do list consists of purchasing snacks (because I have wants and needs of a 6 year old when it comes snacks), making CDs for the car ride (he doesn't have an auxiliary like my car, which is probably the favorite part about my car..), and figuring out what the hell to wear in Ohio. Who knows what the fashion is like out there but I hope to take some nice blog photos in the cornfields for you guys. For some reason, the weather for tomorrow and Saturday is mid 90s.. WHY OHIO?! New Jersey isn't even having that type of weather at the moment.

Everyone in NJ was preparing for Hurricane Irene this weekend. My boyfriend went to Home Depot to get a flashlight only to find them almost sold out and someone telling him that people were going in there to buy them by the boxes. Rather than preparing for the storm, I spent Friday night hanging out with his roommates and Saturday going to the mall with him for some shopping (as his casual wardrobe has not expanded until he met me..).

Saturday, my bf had a mini hurricane party involving eating/drinking (first time I've had "beer in the rear" chicken - delicious I might add). Proceeded to pass out that night and wake up to small branches and leaves all over the front lawn, however everything looked pretty okay. In an attempt to scrounge for some food in the morning, we found out that the whole town area didn't have any power (mainly because none of the traffic lights were working). Strangely enough people were roaming around town but it was all very eerie because there was no where to actually go into. Lounged the whole day watching "Boardwalk Empire" on HBO (thankfully his house had electricity because mine did not).

Woke up this morning to go to work.. it took me 3.5 hours to drive maybe 50 miles ish.. worst commute ever, every time I wanted to go a certain way, there was a roadblock due to flooding. Thank goodness for some beautiful weather and blue skies this week.

Why is it that shoes and accessories are so much easier to fall in love versus clothes. At least in my case, I'll spend good money on a pair of shoes / bag / jewelry but when it comes to clothes, I almost always purchase on sale. Then again when it comes to shopping, I try to find some sort of discount, even if it is as little as free shipping. Maybe it's the fact that for me, a good pair of shoes can make an inexpensive outfit seem expensive or give the same dress a completely different look (depending on your footwear). Who the hell knows..

Summary of last weekend, waking up at the crack of dawn to drive down to Atlantic City and play volleyball. We [me, Ainhoa (pronounced i-know-a), Ainhoa's roommate Shane, and Trevor] spent Saturday night there and went out to the Pool Bar at Harrah's that night. The 4 of us had entirely too much fun with the getting ready process... which included an underwear/getting ready party, figuring out that we could open Corona's with the handles on the drawers in the hotel room, random dancing, running around the hallways, and tons of pictures in the bathroom.

Saw "The Help" last night with my friend Nikki. Never read the book but it was a good movie, probably cried 3 times at least (but that's me.. I cry during Disney movies..). I love Emma Stone and everything she's in (just last week I saw "Crazy Stupid Love" which was super funny and adorable). So glad that her career has begun to take off recently.

Anyway here are the remainder photos from the last post. Yet again I bought a sweater that is probably two sizes too big for me but loving it. I happened to wear it last night during the movie with some shorts and still adored the outfit. So easy and versatile.. thank goodness the weather is starting to cool down so I can throw in some of my light sweaters into the clothing mix.

For a girl I find that I'm pretty low key when it comes to what's in my bag.. I don't really wear makeup unless I go out out which isn't very often. My Eos lipblam comes with me everywhere (and surprisingly hasn't been lost yet), it's one of my favorite purchases.. cute and works awesomely. As far as sunglasses, I just rotate through all mine for the summer. I love a good pair of sunglasses. Ipod is always with me, this one has lasted me 4+ years and is still going strong. I purchased the skin from Gelaskins (you can find them here). They have skins for all sorts of electronic devices in great patterns which I love. The rest of the stuff is all pretty typical.. My next accessory purchase will have to be another smaller wallet because my Proenza takes up half my bags at the moment... any suggestions?

Dug out a sarong a family friend bought for me years ago (10 + probably.. don't know what I was doing with it then..). I actually love the print on it (back then I was all about dolphins apparently) and it's surprisingly easy to make it into a multitude of outfits. I paired leggings with it because it was getting a little chilly but I think I will be wearing this to the beach this weekend... fashionable beach volleyball player haha!

Randomly went into Sunglass Hut to check out whether they had the Prada sunglasses (and they did!).. so in the post below I tried on a tortoise shelled pair (of course you can't really tell but that's what they were). Unfortunately (or fortunately..) they fit and I fell in love with them. Couldn't get them out of my mind the next day so I went and purchased the black pair during my lunch (after consulting with multiple people who agreed that if I could find a black pair it'd be better due to the interesting shape of the sunglasses already). The Saks by me had one black pair left (as if it was a sign) so I gave in and bought them. Adore adore adore adore adore.

Weekend recap:

Saturday - Played beach vball (as per usual) and won AA with my friend/partner Ainhoa (very exciting season for me as I am not used to winning tournaments and thought I'd have to come to terms with the fact that it may never happen). Ate Surf Taco (staple around the Jersey shore), it's been a long time I've been able to finish a huge burrito.

Sunday - Headed to Chinatown with bf, Margaret & her bf. Me and Margaret got haircuts while the boys went on a "blind man date." Drastic hair cut for me (mostly because I haven't cut my hair in 6 months or so) and Margaret got a cute bob. If only I could pull off a specific hair style but my hair is just thick, I don't know what to do with it. Thanks to my mom being our tour guide.. ate some delicious Chinese food. Also got to watch my friends play in a volleyball tournament in the city. By the time I got back, I was completely tuckered out and had a well deserved nap.

Last night I went with the bf to Summerstage in Central Park and watched Ratatat perform (by watched I mean listened because I am too damn short to see much). Random rainstorm that caused us to get completely soaked and then the sun decided it would come out so I managed to get somewhat dry (except my butt which was soggy). After the concert we went back to the Port Authority and grabbed some Shake Shack (one of my favorite places to eat when I go to the city)... we were both so hungry we finished our burger and fries in less than 10 minutes and loved every second of it.

Just received my new Pamela Love ring. I fell in love with it when I saw it on Chiara from TheBlondeSalad (as seen here and here). It's such a statement piece on its own and almost overwhelms my small hands but as I mentioned in the previous post.. I think it's one of those things I just need to dive right in and wear. The only reason why I have reservations about it is the fact that I'm not used to wearing it yet.. what do you guys think?

My collection of bracelets is growing.. I don't usually wear this studded one by Noir because it's a little big on me and I always feel everything gets scratched up clanging together. Now I need to add some watches to my jewelry collection. I've been searching for an oversized gold one at the moment and no luck yet. When I try them on, I feel like it's too big on my skinny wrists but I think that's the part of me that is not used to wearing watches often and it probably looks fine. I think that goes with most people and clothes.. once you get used to it, you realize it's not as bad as you initially thought.

We're still in the process of figuring out how to not look super goofy with each other. The tendency is to just look at one another and say.. 4th of July weekend was spent partying hopping. There were three things to celebrate (1) my good friend is moving out to San Francisco (perhaps forever...tear) (2) his birthday is next week and (3) 'MERICA...duhhh..so there were festivities all weekend. I spend Friday night resting in preparation, Saturday night was NYC, and Sunday was Atlantic City. Here are some snapshots from this weekend:

I guess that wouldn't be considered bribing. So Margaret and I popped over to Manhattan to pick up two other friends, and then sped into the Bronx (we were STARVING). Surprisingly, this Jamaican restaurant is known for their steak. The chef went against Bobby Flay in a steak Throwdown challenge and won! Not your typical steakhouse steak but we all agreed that it's even better. They've also got a great mojito and rum punch, worth every penny.

On another note, this is the other Nasty Gal lace dress that I purchased. Still at a loss of what to wear underneath it but I put on a nude AA dress for these photos. Scalloped hem & lace white dress is perfection. Much less witchy than the black version that I showed here.

Recap of this weekend…Started out by playing in the Corona Wide Open beach volleyball tourney on Saturday at Seaside Heights (yes, the Jersey shore). Hung out with bf/friends and beach volleyball people all day. As usual with my volleyball team, things got a little crazy.. example, me and my "older sister" wrestling, rolling around and trying to shove sand into each other’s bathing suits.

Afterwards, me and the bf/his friend met up with his roommate to have a bbq. We went grocery shopping, so me and the bf were in the back seat while the other two were in the front. Upon arriving in the Shop Rite parking lot, we're about to get out and I say to the bf "do I need anything?" and he replies "nope." He then gets out of the car and slams the door shut with me in it (not realizing I was about to come out behind him). I spent the rest of the night making fun of him for that. Ate good food and drank some beer.. got to play some beer pong (which I didn't suck at, this felt good after a day of me playing some crappy beach volleyball). Passed out during the car ride home.

Sunday, ate Mongolian bbq for lunch and mattress shopped with the bf (as he calls it, a guy's first big purchase). He spent this time talking to sales associates and learning all one needs to know about mattresses, while I relaxed on each bed and played Angry Birds. Made meatloaf and asparagus for dinner (growing up in a Chinese household, I have never made meatloaf in my life) and it was yummy.

My new favorite lip stain is by Tarte, it doesn't make my lips feel as dry as the Revlon Just Bitten ones do, and I still have a lot of trouble using the Revlon ones and applying them evenly on my lips. The color "Amused" (which I am wearing) adds a great pop of color to any outfit for the summer.

Me and Margaret had a photoshoot yesterday. We're still trying to work out the kinks but if anyone can give tips on how they do photoshoots with people vs. a tripod, it would be much appreciated. With my tripod, I can do whatever I want and weed out all the ugly pictures but when someone is taking photos and you're "modeling" I think my tendency is to get a lot more self conscious (I believe Margaret would agree). Not knowing what to do with your body and face and thinking that the person photographing you is wondering "what are they doing.." is how I feel these things go. Not to mention we were in her backyard which apparently has a lot of bugs in it and I left with multiple bites, including one in the middle of my eye brows.

Anyway, for now are some photos of me with my trusty tripod.. I like when I randomly catch the sun at certain angles and capture that sort of dreamy look...

I've got drinks piling up on my desk and a stack of pills I haven't even opened yet!

Puffy eyes from lack of sleep

Broke the sink on the first day due to loading too much ice and beer in it. All four of us proceeded to freak out and run across the hall in towels (some of us had just showered) to one of our "brother" team's rooms. We quickly stashed our beer in their tub, scooped out the ice/water with a cup, and flushed the evidence down the toilet. Then we called the front desk and somehow got free breakfast out of the whole ordeal... :)

As the unofficial documenter of trips/occasions, my friends like to kid that I am totally the stereotypical asian and that I take too many pictures. I went through a phase of lack of photos in college and have little memory of what happened during that period of time. Everyone of course appreciates the photos after the fact, so it all pays off in the end. I just wish I had a photographer for myself because blogging would be 10x's easier / I would actually have photos of myself and my time with people.

These are old pictures from a cooler day, I've worn this outfit before a lot more dressed down but I must admit that I love my "burlap sack." Last picture is a glimpse of the contents of my bag currently. I recently purchased one of those small leather pouches from American Apparel in yellow which goes along really well with my green Proenza Schouler wallet. This summer is all about neon brights for me, so these two items fit in perfectly. I adore how they look inside my mostly black bag collection.

The weather has finally cooled off and is semi bearable, thank goodness. Didn't end up playing beach volleyball because of the "bad" weather, but from what I'm told, the weather was okay by the beach. Instead I spent much of my weekend vegging (yes, again), and not eating vegetables (or as I said, nothing green). Funny how meeting someone can derail your life.

I am still unsure how I feel about this dress from Topshop, though admittedly, paired with a maxi skirt, I love how the top bubbles out.

Trying to pick up the pieces of my life after Dallas. Great time with my team, I love how we can make something crazy out of nothing. Pure tiredness lasting through the weekend.. spent work Thursday and Friday delirious, pretty sure my co-workers thought I had lost my mind. After 8 hours of stressing over "planning" a night in the city.. I let go of my expectations and was not disappointed. Ended the night with a 4 am trip to the diner.. disco fries/chicken fingers taste amazing after a night of drinking. Adventures in the super market and vegging on Saturday.. also saw my first legit soccer game Saturday night. Sunday was more vegging and good conversations at a laundromat. Let's just say I'm smiling after it all. Hopefully now I can get my life into some order..

I'll kick coffee too! I'll just have to get used to drinking my Bailey's straight. It'll still be the best part of waking up!

I'm not usually one that wears too much color, more because of the practicality of clothes, neutrals are just easier to match and can be worn much more often, but the colorblocking trend is huge for spring/summer and I absolutely love it. I've slowly been incorporating bright affordable pieces into my wardrobe. This outfit would definitely be edited a little for wearing out in public.. but for you guys I just decided to wear the colors of the rainbow :)

I love the sheerness of this skirt and just the way it moves and photographs is just beautiful. I just need to find more opportunities to wear this..

Sorry for the lack of updates.. it was a long weekend. Won my first beach volleyball tournament ever on Saturday, definitely can be happy that I've won once in my life (although I came out of it looking like a lobster.. but that was my own fault.. note to self, PUT ON SUNSCREEN). My teammate had a pre-nationals bash to get ready for next weekend when we all fly out to Dallas for some more volleyball fun. Now I am just tired and attempting to get through a blah Monday and a week full of more rain. I'm told it's 86 degrees in Dallas on Friday.

Loving cut outs this spring/summer. I've got the short version of it too, which will be reserved for a crazy night out of drunken debauchery. This dress + breezy night on the boardwalk + drinks and close friends = perfection.

Leftover photos from when the weather was actually nice out. Pet peeve about myself.. when I wear items that are off the shoulder, since I don't have much of a bust and wide shoulders, the tendency seems to be that tops just fall off past my shoulders. I've noticed this trend with a bunch of my tops and haven't figured out a solution. Got any ideas?

Got a brand new leather waist belt from theoutnet.com for about $20 which was pretty awesome. Wore this as a casual work outfit, I love this maxi dress because it's comfortable and actually the right length (which is hard to find for short people). Only until later in the day did my co-workers say "I can see your pink underwear" while I was standing by the window in direct sunlight.

I don't think twice about being an only child.. but more than once I've heard that we supposedly come out spoiled and after a conversation last night.. apparently we come out socially awkward. Thank goodness my friends have confirmed that I am neither of these, though socially awkwardness seems to be something I'm good at (or maybe it's just shyness).

On a side note, I've been on a maxi skirt kick lately, I seriously adore them, especially the semi sheer ones.

My brain is frazzled today, I'll finish off with this quote from Taylor Swift that I read and really liked:

Happy Mother's Day everyone! My parents have decided to leave me home alone and visit the Grand Canyon for a week so I'm spending it with my dog, Penny. I guess I'm like her mother.. so we're just hanging out on this beautiful day together (by hanging out it's mostly her sleeping in my chair which happens to be in my room..)

Anyway, thanks for all the responses in the last post.. although a majority if you guys seemed to like the champagne color (I even second guessed myself one when I was trying them on at the store).. I ended up leaving with the green. I think it'll be a great color blocking piece for the summer, but I might just end up going back and grabbing the champagne as well hehe.

Btw, the top in the previous is the viscose dolman sleeve top from American Apparel. I LOVE it, want it in every color.. so easy to wear and super comfortable.. love love love.

Bear with me, it's going to be a photo filled post. Saw Bruno Mars 2 nights ago on the 4th at Roseland Ballroom in the city. Was so excited to get tickets after seeing his Grammy performance. Ended up standing for about 4-5 hours, but he was so worth it. I forget the name of the opening act but they were pretty cool, and then Janelle Monae was awesome as well. I don't know much of her music but she's a great performer.

Bruno Mars is AWESOME live, I stress the word awesome. So much better than his CD, and his CD is good. I adored every bit of it, every song made me smile more and more.
My new favorite song is "Count On Me," he played a ukelele during it and it was just adorable. I took some video on the more popular songs, I'll see if I can upload them up here so you guys can experience a little bit of Bruno Mars.
