Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Sorry I've been MIA, been a little busy lately.  Hope you guys are having a lovely long weekend, summer is over but I'm definitely excited for fall and seeing all the fun street style pictures during New York Fashion Week.  Maybe one day I'll get to go!

Here's a picture of me and my hot dog - not the bbq kind...

Birkenstock 2.0

Been lacking with the outfit pictures lately because of my new schedule, so instead I've been using my Samsung to document the details of my outfits.  Birkenstocks have obviously been on my mind lately, I officially wore my J.Crew ones out and they are a perfect spring & summer shoe.  The white bottoms make it an instant summer sandal for me.  It is also great to be able to slip on a pair of sandals and go rather than fiddle with straps and what not.

I did manage to track down a pair of the Monterey Exquisite Birkentsocks at Barneys but they sent me the wrong size so I'm quite disappointed, however I thought I'd share.  I'm still trying to track down a 37 so if anyone sees a pair of these, definitely email me!

Personal Style

It's fine to be inspired by all the fashionable bloggers I follow, but sometimes I need to remind myself to stay true to my own personal style as well.  Still, I can't pass up a good, inexpensive piece, even if it's been shown all around the blogosphere.  The tendency seems to be that even though a trend or item is all over the internet, I rarely see it in my everyday life.  So it's okay to get that Zara skort that everyone had last year (I got one while it was on sale!), I have yet to see someone with that skort on, in fact, most people ask me if skorts are just in fashion again.

Easy-going Concert Outfit

My boyfriend is a big Jack Johnson fan and I won a lottery to buy tickets to his concert in NYC last year.  I managed to snag some 2nd row tickets for us.  The concert was at the United Palace which is a former theater that is now used as a church and live music venue so the interior was more beautiful than I thought it would be.  I decided to go for comfort with this outfit since concerts can be unpredictable and you never know when you'll be standing for long periods of time (even though as a personal rule to myself, I don't buy tickets to concerts where I need to stand anymore because I'm lazy).  No cameras allowed at the concert so I snapped some pictures on my phone before we left.

Side note, these pictures make me miss my short hair from last summer!

Deals & Steals!

I've been stalking the Vince Blair slip on sneakers even though I got myself the original Vans for a third of the price.  These caught my eye in the clearance section of Marshall's, I had admired this version online as well but they were from a past season so I figured I wouldn't be able to find them.  Lo and behold, these were my size, and they were.. wait for it.. $38!!!  It was a no brainer, I immediately purchased them.  Can't wait to work these into some casual cool outfits.. stay tuned!
